Hello! Thanks for visiting my site.
I'm a born artist and a professional dreamer. I'm often planning large creative projects: books, films; but painting has always in the background.
I am not a fan of planning. I've never planned out a painting in my head, and had it turn out remotely close to the original idea. I'm sick of beating myself for not measuring up to the images in my mind, so I don't bother wondering if a certain painting will turn out well or not. It's mostly up to chance.
At the moment, I'm in a happy relationship with acrylics. I used to be involved with oils, but they take too long. I make mistakes constantly as I paint. Acrylics allow mistake after mistake and I don't have to feel badly.
My new paintings 'Divine Intervention' are inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I am one of those fortunate New Yorkers who doesn't forget how sublime and wonderful the Met is. I visit frequently. It's been more of a consistent home base for me than any place. I've a secret passion for religious icons and relics.
Born in Virginia, grew up in Rhode Island, but I've spent most of my adult life in New York City. Currently, I live in Manhattan but paint in upstate, NY. I graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Film/TV. Last year, I completed a book called, Your Soul's Missing Manual, a memoir and spiritual handbook. Additionally, I've completed a feature film, Jane the Stalker, started another The Gun Virgins, wrote several shorts, and screenplays. I just finished writing a horror film. In April 2010, I had a solo exhibit of paintings Wild Flowers Moving Fast at Hi Cristina Gallery on Eldridge Street on Lower East Side, NY.
